Originally the school side of the building, the grand entrance hallway to the West Wing with its original tiled flooring and large decorative windows, still carries the spirit of learning and light. The tall ceilings and open layout give the house a bright, airy feel whilst the original pitch pine beams and restored stone fireplaces tell stories of the past. One fireplace, now fully uncovered, bears the words “Gloria in Excelsis.”
The West Wing is designed to embody a true Highland living experience and is perfect for groups seeking a retreat with a touch of rustic charm. The lower level of the house has large living and dining areas with high ceilings and stunning views of the landscaped gardens and Loch Linnhe. The attached fully equipped kitchen and laundry room are perfect for extended stays in the Scottish Highlands. The West Wing has 3 large en-suite bedrooms on the upper floor and host combinations of super-king, and double beds. Beautiful stained glass windows at the front and back, carved sandstone with granite columns that frame the old classroom windows – add a nod to its intended cathedral-like design.
A large driveway leads up to the house and also to the private recreational room that is adjacent to the main wing. The room is filled with board games and activities for the entire family to enjoy. The highlight of the recreational room is its indoor Jacuzzi, sauna and shower — offering guests a peaceful space to slow down, relax, and settle into the comforting rhythm that is St. Andrews.
