Whispering Pine Lodge or the Black Sheep Hotels – Cabins

Begin your adventure with a two-night stay at our tranquil Highland lodge or in our rustic cabins on the banks of Loch Lochy. Set against a backdrop of steep, forested mountains and featuring its own private pebbled beach, the hotel offers a range of facilities including multiple dining options, a spa, gym, and outdoor sauna and hot tub.

DAY 1

Check in and enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival.

Embark on a leisurely boating adventure on Loch Lochy if the weather permits or relax at the Spa with our signature autumn or winter treatments.

Enjoy the rest of the evening at one of our hotel’s restaurants or bars.



DAY 2

Choose between any of our two bespoke itineraries and indulge in a day filled with adventure.

  • Begin the day with a scenic drive to the quaint town of Oban also known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles,’ and is renowned for its seafood.
  • The Oban winter festival one of the town’s most exciting winter events runs between 15th to 24th November and includes Ice rinks, Christmas markets, seasonal workshops and more Click here.
  • Visit the famous Oban Distillery for a glimpse into the whisky-crafting process; it’s a journey through history, tradition and unparalleled expertise.
  • Return to the Whispering Pine Lodge for a relaxed dinner.

  • ­Enjoy a leisurely scenic drive to Pitlochry, a charming town in the county of Perthshire, where a plethora of sights and activities await.
  • ­Visit Faskally Wood, an extensive woodland area within Tay Forest Park on the banks of Loch Dunmore, approximately one mile Northwest of Pitlochry and discover a wide range of tree species, some more than 200 years old.
  • The Enchanted Forest Community Trust show ‘Symphony of Nature’ will take place at Faskally Wood from 2 nd October to 3 November 2024. Click here for more details
  • ­Take a short drive to The House of Bruar , often referred to as the ‘Harrods of the Highlands’. It's a Scottish shopping haven showcasing the finest names in Scottish art, clothing, and food produce.
  • ­After a day of exploring, return to The Whispering Pine Lodge for some well-deserved rest followed by dinner.

DAY 3

  • Relax with our signature massage, get cosy in our toasty barrel sauna or take a dip in our outdoor hot tub and soak in so much more than just the vibrant hues of the landscape.
  • Take a short drive to one of Scotland’s best-known monuments, the Commando Memorial
  • Visit the nearby Nevis Range Mountain Experience and take a gondola ride for breathtaking views or enjoy the wide range of winter activities that is on offer at the Nevis Range.
  • Visit the famous Ben Nevis Distillery in Fort Williamone of the oldest licenced distilleries in Scotland for a tour. *TIP- The distillery is open throughout winter except between 23 rd December 2024 to 2 nd January 2025.
  • ­After a day of exploration, check into the quaint Rokeby Manor for a well-deserved rest followed by dinner

Rokeby Manor

­Our second hotel in the Highlands is an early Victorian house (1840) in Invergarry. This charming manor maintains its country home ambiance and offers a cosy bar along with a rustic farmhouse restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine.

DAY 4

  • ­*Indulge in a morning of outdoor adventures with Black Sheep Adventures , offering an array of thrilling activities such as boating, fishing, Highland Farm tours, or bespoke experiences like clay pigeon shooting or archery, catering to the most enthusiastic guests. *TIP- We have an experienced and jovial Ghillie that can offer expert guidance if required!
  • ­Take a short drive to Fort Augustus, a charming and historic hamlet nestled in scenic surroundings.
  • ­Positioned midway along the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for walking and cycling along the Great Glen Way.
  • ­Embark on a cruise at across the legendary waters of Loch Ness, hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive Nessie. *TIP- The Daily cruise runs at 1pm daily from 1 st November 2024 till 31st March 2025
  • ­Enjoy a leisurely lunch in Fort Augustus before continuing your drive to the iconic Urquhart Castle, a captivating romantic ruin steeped in history.
  • ­Dive deeper into the mysteries of Loch Ness at The Loch Ness Centre , uncovering the truth behind its renowned legend.
  • ­Return to the manor for an evening of drinks and dinner, reflecting on the day's adventures amidst the Highland beauty.

The Cluanie Inn

is situated in the remote wilderness of the picturesque Glen Shiel on the way to the Isle of Skye. This mountain inn reflects much of the Highlands' unique rustic charm with character-filled rooms that are spacious and cozy. The inn serves hearty, scrumptious meals, and the warm atmosphere of the crackling log fires in the lobby makes you feel right at home.

DAY 5

  • ­Depart from Rokeby Manor, drop off your bags at The Cluanie Inn and embark on a journey to the Isle of Skye, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and natural beauty. *TIP- We recommend that you get an early start to make the most out of your day.
  • ­Visit the iconic Eilean Donan Castle for a tour of Scotland's most photographed castle, and quite possibly, one of the world's most renowned landmarks. *Tip- The castle is closed to visitors from 22nd December 2024 to 1st February 2025.
  • ­Visit the Talisker Distillery and learn about the traditional whisky-making process during a guided tour, followed by a tasting session where you can sample whisky at one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, producer of some of the finest single malt whiskies in the world. *Tip- The distillery is open till December 15th
  • ­Fairy Pools: Venture to a series of enchanting pools and waterfalls nestled amidst the rugged terrain of the Black Cuillin mountains. The Fairy Pools are renowned for their magical beauty and make for a refreshing dip if you're feeling adventurous.
  • ­Wrap up your day with a delightful dinner at the Inn, where you can unwind and reminisce about the enjoyable adventures you had on the Isle of Skye

DAY 6 (CHECK OUT)

After a delightful breakfast at the Cluanie Inn, it's time to pack your bags and bid farewell to the Highlands, taking with you the cherished memories of your week-long adventure.

  • This is a self-drive adventure and activities suggested in the itineraries are not included. We recommend that you make prior bookings to ensure availability.
  • Bookings for use of any of the Hotels chargeable facilities must be made in advance to ensure availability.
  • Please note that spa facilities are not applicable for pregnant women and guests below 18 years of age.
  • Pet friendly (dogs only) rooms are subject to availability and are on a chargeable basis.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation by you 15 days before arrival – full refund.
  • Cancellation by you 8 – 14 days before arrival – 50% refund.
  • Cancellation by you 0 – 7 days before arrival – no refund.
